The Dead Fairy Shadow Box turns one of folklore's most elusive creatures into a disturbingly convincing cabinet curiosity. Mummified anatomy, delicate wings, aged textiles and a distressed wooden frame create the impression of a specimen that was discovered, preserved and quietly kept out of sight.

THE DISCOVERY

Fairies usually survive in folklore as delicate creatures that disappear before they can ever be examined. This piece imagines the opposite: what if one had actually been found?

The dried anatomy, fragile wings and aged presentation are designed to make the impossible feel strangely plausible. Mounted against dark textiles and enclosed inside its weathered shadow box, the specimen feels less like conventional fantasy décor and more like something recovered from a collection that was never intended to be public.

Created entirely from synthetic materials. No real human or animal remains are used.

The packaging was so beautiful and well-designed that I did not want to open it (I am saving it, BTW). Upon unboxing it, I can say that it was well packaged and OMG the detail, color, design, execution make it look like an actual odditie that you would find in Gizmo's antique shop in GREMLINS or the FRIDAY THE 13th TV SERIES! How long does it take to create and ship my order?

Most Monster Labs pieces are handmade to order and normally require approximately 1-3 weeks to craft before dispatch. Items currently in stock may ship sooner, while preorders follow the specific production timeline stated on their product page.

Once dispatched, international transit normally takes approximately 4-12 business days, depending on the destination and customs clearance. Orders to the United States typically arrive within approximately 4-5 business days after dispatch.

All orders are securely packed and shipped via FedEx with tracking.

Can I return or exchange an item?

Because our pieces are handmade and individually produced, we only accept returns or exchanges for items that arrive damaged or defective. We do not accept returns due to change of mind.

If your order arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging.

If a return is required and approved, the item must be shipped back within 21 days of delivery, in the condition in which it was received, with its original packaging and all included components. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed with Monster Labs Studios.

Minor variations in color, texture and finish are normal characteristics of handmade work and are not considered defects.

Will I need to pay customs duties or taxes?

International orders may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs clearance charges, brokerage fees, disbursement fees, handling fees or other destination charges depending on the destination.

The shipping amount paid at checkout covers transportation only and does not include these additional charges.

Any additional charges assessed by FedEx, customs authorities or local authorities are the buyer's responsibility. Monster Labs Studios does not control or receive these charges.
